I have decided to include this The Fly magazine cover in the insperation section of my blog because I think that the fact that this cover does not follow all the rules that the previous magazine is a good example that sometime it could work. Although, this sort of cover is not really what I have in mind for my own magazine I think that the use of colours is clever because although it is a 'busy' looking cover I think that it still works well and is a good look.
I think this magazine cover shows how a more cluttered cover can still work in a good way, rather than looking messy.
I think that the makers of this magazine have made an important decision of keeping the men on the cover styled neatly so that they are still the main focus. Also, by photoshopping an animal into the cover it makes it different from other magazines. I think that by using a full image as a background it makes the issue more personal to the cover stars as if that issue of the magazine has been edited around them and not the other way around.
Think about how the designers have created a cover that includes all of the content, and a picture with a background, without it looking messy. What have they done, at the photoshop stage? What decisions have they made to keep this looking styled?
